How we use AI
Specifics, not a disclaimer: what the system does, what it cannot do, and who is responsible.
Bolverk Games uses an AI newsroom system to research and draft its news coverage. This page explains exactly what that means, because “AI-assisted” is doing a lot of undefined work on the rest of the internet and we would rather be specific.
What the system does
- It watches a set of gaming and streaming RSS feeds for leads — a signal that something has happened.
- It then researches that lead itself, using live web search, to find the primary source and at least one independent outlet that corroborates it.
- It writes the article from the verified facts, in its own structure and words.
- It records the sources it actually used, which are published at the foot of the article.
What it is not allowed to do
- It never ingests the body text of a source article. The lead is a headline and one line of gist, nothing more. It cannot rewrite someone else’s piece because it is never given someone else’s piece.
- It cannot publish below two sources. The gate is enforced in code, not in the prompt — the model can say whatever it likes; if the source count is under two, publication is blocked.
- It cannot invent numbers, quotes, prices or events. Anything unverified is left out rather than guessed at.
- It does not use images taken from sources. Cover art is either official store artwork or generated in-house.
Who the bylines are
Our reporters — Mira Kessler, Jonas Beck, Sam Okafor and Lea Vestergaard — are AI reporters with defined beats. They are not real people, and we say so on their profile pages, in their bylines and here. We use named beats rather than a single anonymous “staff” byline because it tells you which system wrote a piece and what it is meant to know about. We do not give them invented biographies, invented careers, invented photographs or invented credentials.
Who is accountable
The publisher is accountable for everything on this site — including anything an AI system produced. “The model wrote it” is not a defence and we will never use it. If a story is wrong, the correction runs at the top of the article under our corrections policy, and the fault is ours.
What is not AI-written
This page, our ethics policy, our review policy and our about page are editorial statements from the publisher.
Tell us when it fails
If you find a story that is wrong, thin, single-sourced despite the gate, or reads like a rewrite of something you have seen elsewhere, we want to know — that is a bug, not a rough edge. Email [email protected] with the link.
