Privacy policy

This policy explains what Bolverk Games collects, why, and what you can do about it. The data controller is the publisher of this site, identified in the footer. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we collect

• Newsletter signup. Your email address, and the date you signed up. Legal basis: consent. Used only to send The Respawn. You can unsubscribe from any issue, and we delete the address when you do.
• Contact and tip form. The name, email address and message you send us. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and, where relevant, reporting the story. Kept as long as needed to handle the matter, then deleted.
• Reader poll. An anonymous count of votes per option. No identifier is stored with a vote. Your browser stores a local flag so we do not ask you twice; it never reaches our server.
• Server logs. Our host and our CDN record IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp for security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Rotated automatically.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data. Ever, to anyone.
• We do not build advertising profiles of readers.
• We do not run third-party tracking or advertising cookies on this site.

Who processes data for us

Hosting is provided by Cloudways (EU data centre). DNS, security and content delivery are provided by Cloudflare. Email routing runs through Cloudflare Email Routing. These providers process data on our instructions under data-processing agreements. If we ever add an analytics or newsletter provider, this page is updated before it goes live.

Third-party content

Some pages load web fonts from Google Fonts, and articles may embed official artwork served from Steam’s content network. Loading a resource from a third party discloses your IP address to that third party. We use no embedded social widgets or trackers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to the data we hold about you, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority — in Denmark, Datatilsynet.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

When this policy changes materially we update the review date shown at the foot of this page.
