Dataminers combing through the WoW: Forever beta client have found a broad rework of gear set bonuses, one that blends level 60 endgame pieces with the dungeon blues players pick up on the way there. Wowhead pulled the changes from beta build 1.60.1 and reported that the update touches both new sets and dozens of returning ones from vanilla WoW, effectively turning old dungeon crawls into a longer farming loop than Classic ever demanded.

Twenty-six sets move from 2/4/6/8 to five bonus tiers

The most structural change hits 26 sets carried over from Classic. In Classic, a set like Battlegear of Heroism gave a bonus at 2, 4, 6 and 8 pieces, but in the Forever client the same set now has thresholds at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pieces, so every extra piece picked up does something. Most of the new effects are freshly written, though a handful of the original Classic bonuses survive, just relocated to a different step in the sequence.

PC Gamer, working from the same Wowhead datamine, flagged how the change reaches down to gear players see long before max level. Even low-level armor sets have cool bonuses now, like the Defias Leather set, which, at four pieces, has a chance to make your melee attacks bleed the target on a 5% proc chance. That set drops in Deadmines, one of the earliest instances in the game, meaning the new bonus tier structure is not reserved for raid gear.

Postmaster, Necropile and Dread/Deathmist get new procs

Several of the reworked sets sit at the higher end of the leveling range, right where Forever mixes dungeon rewards with pieces meant to carry a character into early endgame. The Postmaster set, a level 56 kit, now nets owners Return to Sender, which gives a free spell reflect after falling to 25% health. The Necropile’s Raiment, meanwhile, has a chance to steal life from spellcasting, and the Bloodmail’s Regalia can bleed enemies that attack the wearer.

Max-level dungeon sets get their own treatment too. The Warlock’s Dread and Deathmist raiments have a chance to fear attackers when they strike the wearer, on a 60 second cooldown. Feral druids are covered as well: the feral tanking set, Grovekeeper’s Rage, lets a druid cast Rebirth while in bear form. Several sets also reward fighting specific creature types, a callback to vanilla itemization that Blizzard appears to be leaning into rather than retiring.

Crafted tier pieces arrive, but only one fits at a time

Icy Veins separately datamined a set of crafted tier items tied to raid materials, built by community dataminer Stiven. The created items are Bind on Equip, requiring raid materials to craft. There is a catch built into the current beta data: a character may only equip one crafted tier item for now.

Icy Veins listed early bonus lines for priest-oriented crafted armor. The Vestments of Conviction give increased Spirit at two pieces, reduce the Fear Ward cooldown by 60 seconds at three, boost healing and spell damage at four, and cut the cooldown on Penance and Prayer of Mending at five. A shadow-focused counterpart, Raiments of Conviction, follows the same five-step logic with its own effects against undead targets.

Nothing is locked before Forever’s beta matures

All three outlets stress the same caveat: this is beta client data, not a shipped feature list. Item names, bonus values and which sets keep their current thresholds can still shift before launch, and Blizzard has not published patch notes confirming the specific numbers dataminers extracted from build 1.60.1.

For now the direction is clear even if the details aren’t final. Forever’s designers are treating partial sets, not just complete eight-piece kits, as something worth chasing at every stage between Deadmines and Hyjal.
