WoW Midnight S2: Yukero Releases M33kAuras Dungeon Pack for Mythic+
Addon maker Yukero has published a Season 2 dungeon alert pack built on M33kAuras, the WeakAuras replacement for World of Warcraft: Midnight.
- Yukero's "Midnight S2 Dungeon Pack" is live on Wago, built on the M33kAuras framework
- It adds customizable Mythic+ alerts, movable anchors and voice warnings per dungeon
- Original WeakAuras team confirmed it will not support Midnight due to Blizzard's addon API limits
- M33kAuras, made by developer m33shoq, is a WeakAuras 2 fork adapted to Midnight's restrictions

Addon developer Yukero has published a new Mythic+ alert pack for World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2, giving dungeon groups a customizable warning system built on M33kAuras, the community framework that stepped in after Blizzard’s addon API changes pushed the original WeakAuras out of the expansion. The pack, listed on Wago as the Midnight S2 Dungeon Pack, went live this week and covers the current Mythic+ rotation with movable alert anchors and optional voice callouts, as reported by Wowhead.
What the Midnight S2 Dungeon Pack Actually Does
The pack offers customizable Mythic+ alerts and warnings for the Midnight Season 2 dungeon rotation. Players can reposition each warning anywhere on screen through custom anchors, and the set leans on voice alerts for anyone who prefers to hear an incoming mechanic rather than watch for it.
Despite running on new plumbing, the alerts are meant to feel familiar to anyone who used dungeon WeakAuras packs in earlier seasons, right down to layout choices players have leaned on for years. That continuity is deliberate: the goal is to replace lost functionality without forcing a fresh learning curve mid-season.
Why WeakAuras Never Made It to Midnight
The gap Yukero is filling exists because the original WeakAuras team walked away from Midnight entirely. Ahead of the expansion’s March 2 launch, the developers said on Patreon that the tool remains “fundamentally incompatible with Blizzard’s vision.” The sticking point is Blizzard’s “secret values” system, which hides personal combat information such as buffs, resources and cooldowns from addons by default.
The team had hoped Blizzard would loosen those limits further during the Midnight beta, but concluded the concessions did not go far enough. As they put it in their update, “the changes they have made don’t really pass muster.” Blizzard framed the whole overhaul as an attempt to end the long-running arms race between encounter designers and addon authors, but for WeakAuras it meant the end of the road for the expansion.
M33kAuras Steps In Where WeakAuras Stopped
Into that vacuum came M33kAuras, a separate framework built by developer m33shoq that predates Midnight but was adapted to work under the new API rules. Its own GitHub page describes it as a powerful and flexible framework that allows the display of highly customizable graphics on World of Warcraft’s user interface to indicate buffs, debuffs, and other relevant information, covering triggers built from auras, health, power, cooldowns, combat events, runes, totems, items, and many other triggers.
It is not the only fork trying to fill the space. CurseForge lists ThisWeeksAuras as a separate, independently maintained continuation, and its listing confirms the underlying problem in plain terms: it is a Midnight-ready fork of M33kAuras by m33shoq, itself a fork of WeakAuras 2, because WeakAuras 2 is no longer maintained for World of Warcraft: Midnight due to Blizzard’s new addon API restrictions. Yukero’s dungeon pack is built specifically on M33kAuras rather than that competing fork.

Boss Mods Still Do the Heavy Lifting
Yukero’s pack does not work in isolation. Coverage of the release notes that the dungeon alerts still depend on a separate boss mod addon such as DBM or BigWigs being installed, since the M33kAuras displays pull their timing data from those tools rather than tracking encounters independently. That leaves Mythic+ groups running two addons side by side to reconstruct what a single WeakAuras package once handled alone.
It is a workaround, not a full recovery. Dungeon leaders who spent years fine-tuning one aura set now have to layer a boss mod, a display framework and a dungeon-specific pack just to get back to where they started before Midnight’s API changes. Yukero previously released a Season 1 version of the same concept, and the jump to a Season 2 build suggests the project is being maintained on the same seasonal cadence Blizzard uses for Mythic+ rotations.
The pack is available now through Wago under the Midnight S2 Dungeon Pack listing, tagged for use with M33kAuras version 1.0.5 and later.
