WoW Weekly Launches Forever Podcast Ep. 1 as Brewfest Runs Through Oct. 6
Blizzard's WoW Weekly roundup debuts the WoW: Forever Podcast with Aggrend, Tim Jones and Xaryu, while Brewfest runs across six cities.
- Episode 1 of the WoW: Forever Podcast features Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield, Tim Jones and Xaryu
- Brewfest holiday runs September 20 to October 6 across six Azeroth capital cities
- New WoW Portal Room Discord channels launched with a Forever Collection code giveaway
- This week's WoW Weekly also teases October's Trading Post

Blizzard rolled out its weekly WoW Weekly roundup with the first episode of an official WoW: Forever podcast, a fresh run of the Brewfest holiday and new Discord infrastructure for the game’s community. The update covers articles on choosing a ruleset, naming characters and the new Skyborne race, points ahead to October’s Trading Post, and catches players up on the Brewfest in-game holiday and the WoW Portal Room.
Players are already picking apart the podcast’s talking points on the Forever beta’s server tech and the Skyborne’s place in a Classic-styled world:
Aggrend, Tim Jones and Xaryu Open the Forever Podcast
Senior Game Designer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield and Lead Classic Designer Tim Jones joined content creators Countdown To Classic and Xaryu for the first episode of the World of Warcraft: Forever Podcast. Wowhead reported that the first episode of the weekly World of Warcraft: Forever podcast dives into the launch of the Forever Beta.
Icy Veins, which watched the full episode, noted the conversation ranged across the beta’s new server technology and its effect on world PvP. During the WoW: Forever Beta, players have experienced several new elements when it comes to layering and server stability, with hundreds able to coexist on the same layer with minimal lag, allowing for epic-scale world PvP battles. The outlet also flagged a lingering community split over the newly added race: “fans are split on whether the new Skyborne race belongs in a Classic setting,” though the development team is said to be focused on the race’s long-term story.
Warcraft Tavern pegged the runtime of the debut episode at just over an hour, with Blizzard framing it as a recurring show rather than a one-off. The studio had previously signalled the format would track the Forever project as it develops, and this is the first proof of that promise going live.
Brewfest Taps Six Capitals Through October 6
Alongside the podcast, Blizzard confirmed the annual Brewfest festival is running its usual course. The holiday runs September 20 through October 6, spread across Silvermoon City, Valdrakken, Dornogal, Ironforge and Orgrimmar, with Brewfest Prize Tokens used to purchase most items at the Brewfest vendor.
Players start the holiday by talking to the Holiday Enthusiast in Silvermoon City. Beyond the usual Ironforge and Orgrimmar activities, this year adds new Brewfest quests throughout Quel’Thalas and a Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario. Icy Veins’ own coverage of the event echoed the same window and currency details, confirming the dates match across Blizzard’s own post and independent tracking sites.

WoW Portal Room Discord Adds Forever Channels and a Code Giveaway
Blizzard also used the roundup to formally welcome Forever players into its official Discord space. The WoW Portal Room now welcomes the World of Warcraft: Forever community, with new channels and roles added to support Forever players and a Forever Collection code giveaway starting the same day, with more said to be coming.
The push ties into Blizzard’s wider WoW Ambassadors initiative. A team of WoW Ambassadors representing partnered community Discord servers is meant to help players find a space that fits their needs, with participating Discords getting special recognition, access to exclusive events and direct support from Blizzard. Folding Forever’s launch traffic into that existing network gives the studio a ready-made moderation and onboarding layer just as the beta’s population grows.
October Trading Post Gets an Early Tease
The weekly digest closes on a smaller note for retail and Classic players alike: a look ahead at October’s Trading Post, though Blizzard has not yet detailed the month’s specific reward track. Icy Veins’ own summary of the week described it as a Trading Post tease, a couple of events, and more stacked on top of the Forever-heavy news cycle.
With Brewfest closing out on October 6 and a second podcast episode presumably due the following week, Blizzard has effectively set its own release cadence for Forever content: one dev-facing video and one seasonal event running in parallel with the beta’s ongoing patch cycle.
